    I've had 5 people out to my house and I'm still don't have services! I've wasted countless hours on the phone and finally after talking to the excutive VP's assistant I'm still not installed. Steve Trippe is full of it when he says he wants to hear compliants and resolve them. After dealing with them its is clear that the follow must be company policy:
    1)never call any one back it saves money to have then call you.
    2)leave people on hold till they hang up (I was told this by an emloyee)
    3) since there really is no competition for cable internet in STL they can provide exteremly poor service ( if u need a phat pipe into you home for work and don't want to pat AT&T for a T1)

    I too have encountered incredibly bad and distasteful Customer Service from Charter Communications. My story is too long to tell so I will spare you the details (I guarantee that everyone dealing with Charter has a similar story to tell. I am now being told by Charter that they can no longer honor the rate and service plan they promised me because the Customer Service Rep who set up the rate did so fraudulently. Okay, they admit to me that their own employee committed fraud and somehow I, the consumer am being treated as though I have done something dishonest. I am dumbfounded by the audacity of this Company. I will switch as soon as I can. It makes no difference to me whose service I use because no one can be as bad as Charter. Why has the Attorney Generals office not shut them down? The day that Charter Communications files bankruptcy can not come too soon.

    I just want to start this by saying that I am a patient person. When I move to Florissant in September we arranged to have my service switched the weekend of the 10th. They did not show and had apparently rescheduled my appointment to the following weekend without any notification. A week and a half after they finally do get it installed my cable quits working and take about 4 days to get service out to my house again. When they show up it turns out that someone else in my neighborhood had their service canceled and since the connections were all unmarked they just disconnected one, which happened to be mine.

    A charter salesman calls on the November 25th offering me a very nice bundle deal so I forget the past problems and decided to take it. We arrange to have installation on November 3rd between 1-5 because changing phone carriers has to be done during the week according to them. I take a vacation day so I can be here (this is my last one for the year btw). I don't call them until 4:45 since the last 2 times they came it was at the very end of the time window. When I call customer service tells me that I am scheduled for the 7th between 8-10. After explaining to them that I’m not stupid and did not get these dates and times confused the rep actually said that the sales person was only worried about the sale and most likely didn't check to see if the time was available. So I guess charter is fine with the old bait and switch, thinking that I will be fine with taking another day off to get their crappy service. The only thing the customer service reps could say was sorry even when I canceled to appointment and the new services I was buying. This is by and far the worst company I have ever dealt with. When they are going to be held accountable for their incredibly poor service? Please do yourself a favor and use any company but them. Personally I am going to look into AT&T satellite for the first time just so I never have to deal with them again.

    My service experience was almost the same, but we had additional problems and continue to have them now that we pay for their service. We since have cancelled phone service and cable and internet will be the next to go. Don't use charter. I'm looking into other service providers as I type...
